Detecting USB devices in Linux
I have created a small kernel module that will detect the USB devices that are connected to my PC. The problem that I am having is that the device that gets detected changes often. This happens for example when I plug in a mouse/keyboard that has multiple drivers. Can someone please help me with this?
A:
If you want to be a bit more cross platform use the udev.
Udev is the dynamic device and driver management facility that
Linux uses for device hotplugging. This facility allows the kernel to
reliably identify devices that are added or removed, allowing
programs to manage their use in a more user-friendly way. You can
enable or disable udev events using the udevadm command.
and
Udev is used by the Linux Device Mapper and mdadm tools to provide
hotplugging support for RAID controllers. It provides a Linux-level
API for managing devices and their associated block devices. It allows
you to automatically add or remove devices to a RAID array. This
facility allows you to seamlessly add or remove devices in your
system.
Q:
What would be the best way to detect this programmatically?
In my app, I have a web browser that does something like this:
If the user doesn't have a browser, the browser will open a browser to show a QR code.
If the user has the browser, and it's currently open, then the user just navigates to that page.
For the third scenario, what would be the best way to detect this programmatically?
A:
You could take a look at UIViewController's viewDidAppear. You can catch the request for a QR 01e38acffe
